Open Recorder is a powerful MacOS screen recorder app built entirely with Swift. Because it uses native Swift, it is extremely tiny at around 40MB, very powerful, responsive and very light on your device. Use it for both screenshots and screenrecordings.
The product uses a small native stack: Swift owns the macOS experience, capture UI, recording controls, screenshot flow, playback, and Finder/privacy integrations. Rust owns durable local service work such as app paths, project metadata, recording registration, screenshot indexing, and export bookkeeping.
